A "Show & Sell" Checklist

Before you show your house check the following things:

Exterior

• Repaint siding, touch up trim
• Repair/paint – gutters, downspouts and fences
• Seal driveway
• Remove any oil or stains from garage floor
• Wash all windows - remove screens as windows look cleaner without them.
• Trim trees, hedges, shrubs – weed and feed lawn
• Remove any clutter from lawn i.e. garden tools, toys, mowers, etc.

Entryway

• Check to see if the doorbell along with any exterior lighting are in working order
• Replace welcome mat
• Repair/paint storm and front doors
• Clear interior entry – front closet of any clutter

Living Room – Dining Room – Family Room – Bedrooms

• Repaint/touch up all walls, ceilings and molding
• Shampoo carpets, wash and wax floors
• Remove any extra or unattractive furniture
• Clean curtains, shutters, blinds, fireplace, mantle, shelving
• Replace any old bedspreads or covers

Kitchen – Bath

• Repair any leaky faucets or replace fixtures
• Repaint/paper walls
• Clean oven, refrigerator any other appliances
• Clean out cabinets, drawers and medicine chests
• Remove any clutter from countertops
• Grout Tubs and showers
• Replace all old toilet seats and shower curtains

General

• Give home a bath - rent power pressure washer
• Replace all burned out light bulbs
• Clear all cobwebs, wash light switches, handrails and doorknobs
• Clear and clean out all closets
• Add welcome touches like potted plants, flowers etc…
